JamVans are regularly spotted within the Camden area, which is no surprise due to this area of London being one of the most popular areas to relocate within. Here at JamVans we take pride in offering: high quality, double walled boxes, transit insurance cover, furniture covers, carpet protection and fully trained staff. We ensure that your removal and storage services are as straightforward as possible and we can also arrange parking regulations and third party tradesmen if this is something you require. All council’s in London have to allow 20 minutes for loading and unloading in resident bays or yellow lines (although loading restrictions may apply). With the majority of removals typically take longer than the permitted time, you will need to organise one of the following:
Suspension Parking on removal day
This is where parking in a resident permit zone outside your property can be reserved for a specific amount of time. Yellow signs will be displayed on the posts to mark out clearly the space reserved and only registration plates assigned to the booking can park there. The cost to purchase suspension parking within the Camden area is £66.41 for up to four parking spaces. Camden council waiver the fee per bay for domestic removals. To make the suspension enforceable you are required to provide 17 days notice, this means that if an alternative vehicle is parked within a space, enough warning has been granted to get the vehicle removed.
Parking on packing day
As we do not need to park directly outside the property on the packing day, it is more cost efficient to display a visitor voucher or e-voucher, however, if you do not have access to these then a parking permission is your next best option. The parking permission allows you to park in a resident permit holder bay or on single yellow lines at any time (providing loading restrictions are not in force) Monday - Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. The cost of a parking permission is £33.94 per day, per vehicle.
Permission to park anywhere in resident zone or single yellow line
If you can simply park on the road, there are a few things to consider; Are you able to reserve enough space for the removal vehicle to park close enough? If not, then a suspension may be the best option, however, it is still important to display a valid permit.
Visitor vouchers/e-vouchers are to be displayed in the window of the vehicle, for the duration of the stay or whilst restrictions are in place. If you have access to a Camden council account for e-vouchers, then let us know at the point of booking and we can provide you with the vehicle registration plate.
Have red lines outside your property?
Although these roads may be within your council boundaries, they will be managed by Transport for London. Red routes make up 5% of London’s road, but carry 30% of traffic so a specific set of rules apply. Please click here for details on the options that apply.
When relocating the most important question to consider, is what will the education facilities be? In order to cater for the large proportion of families living in Camden, there are 41 primary schools and 10 secondary schools, meaning you will be spoilt for choice. In order to ensure your child receives the best possible education, why not view a full selection of the Ofsted reports for schools within the Camden region.
Camden is home to one of the most famous and vibrant shopping and entertainment areas in London, Camden Lock. Clustered within the award-winning Market Hall, you will find a full range of shops and stalls selling a range of items including vintage fashion, homeware and jewellery. Camden Lock was one of London’s first crafts and antique market and it retains its original focus as the principle Camden market for crafts. Historically Camden Market first originated as a temporary small arts and crafts fair in the backyard of Dingwalls and was only open on Sundays.
